Home Remedies for Osteoporosis - Natural Remedies Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a slow decrease in bone density that leads to weakness in bone structure. Throughout life calcium is continually added to and subtracted from your bones. Cells called osteoclasts absorb old bone tissue. This process is kept in check by a number of hormones and other substances that maintain the bones in maximum strength and health. But with age, bones lose an excessive amount of protein and minerals. This can lead to osteoporosis, also know as "porous bone". People with osteoporosis are more likely to have broken bones and fractures, including severely painful fractures of the vertebrae. Fractures of the spine are more common, but any bone that's weak can break.
Symptoms of osteoporosis

- Cramps in the legs at night
- Bone pain and tenderness
- Neck pain, discomfort in the neck other than from injury or trauma
- Persistent pain in the spine or muscles of the lower back
- Abdominal pain

Treatments for Osteoporosis
Many studies have shown that taking calcium supplements prevents bone loss. But when taking calcium supplements stop all carbonated drinks especially sodas. Carbonated drinks are known to leech calcium from your bones.
Soy, Soy, and more Soy! Soybeans and many other beans contain natural estrogen like compounds called phytoestrogens. In one study of soy products, researchers examined 80 post-menopausal women who ate a half cup of tofu every day. Early results found that the rate of bone loss among the women slowed down. Phytoestrogens from soy products may be the reason why women living in Asian countries have a much lower rate of hip fractures than women in Western countries.
Exercise! I cannot say this enough. Alot of the people I work with do not exercise because they find it to tedious. Exercise plays a MAJOR role in ALL reversal of major or minor diseases. Exercise does not have to be tedious. I keep myself in perfect shape by walking a mile a day. Yes you heard right -- walking is more effective than running when it comes to weight loss, and overall health.
STOP smoking. Smokers are more likely to get osteoporosis than non smokers.

Estrogen replacement therapy: Conjugated estrogens (premarin), dienestrol (ortho dienestrol), estradiol (estrace).
