The stomach flu is one of many names for gastroenteritis. This is the inflammation of the mucosa that lines the stomach and intestine, primarily the small intestine. It is generally caused by food-transmitted microorganisms (viruses and bacteria).

Stomach Flu Symptoms

Stomach Flu Remedies
During the first 24 to 48 hours, only liquids should be consumed. Fruit juices are not recommended. They tend to aggravate diarrhea.
People with the stomach flu should not drink milk. Milk can worsen the symptoms of Gastroenteritis.
Eat apples, particularly applesauce or baked. In cases of the stomach flu apples have healing properties on the intestinal mucosa.
Garlic’s essence is an effective antibiotic, acting on the pathogens that cause stomach flu. However, in contrast to medical antibiotics, it protects the natural bacterial flora in the intestine.
Lemons are capable of eliminating many of the pathogens that cause the stomach flu. Lemon juice diluted with water is most effective.
