Most of us have experienced headaches at one time or the other. It is known that about 90 percent of headaches are characterized as muscle contraction, or tension headaches. Tension headaches are usually the ones that tend to be the worst of all. They usually come during the paying of bills, work, or sometimes arguments.

According to studies, more than forty-five million Americans get headaches from time to time. There are even people who are born with the biology that makes them prone to headaches. Although there are forty-five million who suffer with headaches — out of those people twenty-eight million of them suffer from migraines. Unfortunately migraine headaches are worse than tension headaches.

Migraines are part of what is called the vascular headache family and most often affect women. According to studies seventy percent of those who suffer from migraines are women.

Symptoms of Headaches

During a headache people usually feels pain all over the head. You may also feel a dull ache or a sense of tightness and perhaps experience a sense of not being clearheaded.

Symptoms of Migraine Headaches

Migraines can bring severe, one-sided throbbing pain. Nausea and vomiting, and also tremor and dizziness may come along with these headaches. Blurred vision, floating visual images, and numbness in an arm or leg may be a signal of an oncoming migraine attack.
